Your Authentic Girlhood Self is Waiting for Your Attention

Your authentic girlhood self is waiting for your attention.

Puberty likely pulled you into a mishmash of becoming more conscious and aware of your body, the force of changes in your body, and how others responded to your transformation. You also learned from the pressures of your culture that your body and appearance equaled your worth, and proximity to love, acceptance, and power.

For most of us, at some point in our adolescence, we turned away from our girlhood dreams and desires and got caught up in attracting the gaze and approval of others.

As you approach and cross the threshold of menopause, you care less and less about the gaze and approval of others. Do you feel it?

If you listen, your girlhood self whispers in your ear, calling you back to the dreams and desires you dropped when puberty pulled you away. Do you hear it?

Your body holds your dreams, memories, and callings. Reclaiming your connection to your body allows you to remember the wisdom held there for you.

Now is the time to honor your body.

Midlife is not the time to be at war with your body. Don't let the midlife diet/wellness mess disconnect and distract you from your body's wisdom.

Diet/wellness and anti-aging messages will have you looking at your body with criticism, undernourishing, and pushing your body to fit into someone else's idea of what is good and worthy, making connection and listening impossible.

Now is the time for Aging with Body Liberation.
